Elizabeth Reidy, MD, FAAP Pediatrician & Physician Owner

Dr. Elizabeth T. Reidy is originally from the northern suburbs of Chicago. She attended the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana, earning a B.S. in Biology and graduating with Distinction. She attended Northwestern University Medical School for her Doctor of Medicine degree and completed her pediatric residency at James Whitcomb Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis.

Dr. Reidy held a Junior Faculty position at the Children’s Hospital, splitting her time between caring for special needs children and staffing the local county urgent care clinic for 1 year. She went into private practice in the Chicago area for 8 years before moving to Austin.

Dr. Reidy has practiced in the Austin area since 1998, working for Bee Caves Pediatrics and Northwest Pediatrics. She is board certified and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She has two grown children, Molly and Peter, and enjoys tennis, Austin music, gardening and hiking.

Dr Prajapati

Yogini M. Prajapati, MD

Yogini M. Prajapati, MD was welcomed to the Schoolhouse Pediatrics team in July 2015. Prior to starting at Schoolhouse Pediatrics, Dr. Prajapati completed her undergraduate training at the University of Houston. Dr. Prajapati then received her medical training at St. Matthews University on Grand Cayman in 2010 before completing her residency at LSU Health Science Center in Shreveport, Louisiana in 2013. After finishing her residency, she worked at several urgent care centers throughout Texas and Louisiana.  Dr. Prajapati is board certified, and was the staff ER doctor at LSU Health Science Center Emergency Room in Shreveport before moving to Texas. In her spare time, Dr. Prajapati enjoys outdoor activities, cooking, and spending time with her family.

Nurse Hershey

Susan Hershey, RN, MS, CPNP-PC

Susan Hershey is a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner who has practiced in Austin since 1989. She grew up in Michigan and earned her BS in Nursing from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. She subsequently worked as a staff nurse in pediatric Infectious Disease at U of M’s Mott Children’s Hospital. Pursuing her goal of becoming a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, she attended Graduate school at the University of Michigan and received a Master’s in Parent-Child Nursing. She practiced as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Pediatric Cardiology at Mott Children’s, and maintained an Adjunct Professor of Nursing position at the University of Michigan, providing clinical instruction and lectures in the graduate nursing program.

Sue has practiced at several pediatric offices in the Austin area. She also had the pleasure of being on faculty at The University of Texas, instructing nursing students in the PNP and FNP programs. While no longer formally teaching, she enjoys precepting students in the clinical setting.

Sue is Board certified in primary care pediatrics by PNCB and licensed as an Advanced Practice Nurse with prescriptive privileges by the State of Texas. She is a current member of the National Association of Nurse Practitioners and a member of the local chapter.

Sue joined Schoolhouse Pediatrics in January 2014. She and her husband have lived in Westlake since 1991 and have four children. She has been very active in the schools and the Westlake Community and is pleased to now be working in this area as well. Sue enjoys Austin’s live music, outdoor sports, and spending time with her family and friends.

Rachel Riedberger, RN, MSN, CPNP-PC

Rachel Riedberger is a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner who joined Schoolhouse Pediatrics in the fall of 2013.  She earned a BA from Wheaton College studying biology, kinesiology, and psychology.  Rachel then went on to get her Bachelors of Science in Nursing, and Masters of Science in Nursing from Rush University in Chicago.  She worked as a nurse in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Rush for about 5 years.

Rachel is a member of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners.  She has extensive first-hand experience with common parental concerns and pediatric illness, as her five children keep her very busy!  Rachel enjoys spending time with her family, attending barre classes in her free time, and traveling.  She has given aide at medical missions in Africa and Haiti and looks forward to participating in more medical missions in the future.

Kathy Ramirez, RN, MSN, CPNP-PC

Kathy Ramirez is a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner who became a member of the Schoolhouse Pediatrics team in June 2017.  She has been working in general pediatrics in one capacity or another for the past 17 years, and she received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston.

Kathy worked as an RN at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston before moving to Austin.  She then joined the Austin Diagnostic Clinic where she worked as an RN and clinical manager at their pediatric clinics for 12 years. In 2010, Kathy decided that she wanted to advance her career and went back to graduate school. She received her Masters of Science in Nursing and Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Certification in 2012. She then worked with underprivileged patients at Lone Star Circle of Care over the next five years.

Recently, Kathy wanted to shift her priorities more towards her own children. She also wanted to focus more on teaching nursing and building her home business. Kathy’s passion and dedication toward providing quality care for her patients fits very well with the vision and mission of Schoolhouse Pediatrics.

Kathy is married and has twin girls. In her spare time, she loves gardening, reading, being an entrepreneur, teaching, and continuously learning about medicine and healthcare. She also speaks Vietnamese and some Spanish.
